Is it a virus? or is it a hoax? Before you forward the latest virus warning, plea for assistance, or "chance to win whatever", please do a little research. The following web resources will help you sort the real threats from the hoaxes.

McAfee Virus Information Library Search Center - easy access to searching for information on real viruses and hoaxes.

Symantec Virus Hoax website - includes a link for searching the SARC Online Encyclopedia by virus, hoax or joke name.

Truth or Fiction - An email reality check. Check out rumors, inspirational stories, virus warnings, humorous tales, pleas for help, urban legends, prayer requests and calls to action to see if they are TRUTH! or FICTION!

Virus Hoax and Myth Information - On About.com, this site includes links to an on-line Hoax Encyclopedia, a guide to Urban Legends, and anti-hoax advice.
